Interview with D
With Mark from The Stand
ark: Let's start off on the right foot. How many times do you get asked for
nude pics and are sent pics from people? Just curious really.
Dee: Almost every person who wants to talk to me sexually asks for nude pics.
And I am usually sent pics from people all the time. Not nude, but usually
suggestive pics.
Mark: What have you been up to lately D? Anything you want to promote or
anything exciting going on with you?
Dee: I've been working on a new book that is going to be slammin' hot! Nothing to
promote besides my art. More people need to buy my art!
Mark: If you could spend one whole day with anyone person, doing all the things
you love to do, who would it be and what would you do?
Dee: I know it's totally cliche but I'd love to spend the day with RuPaul. We
could go CD shopping and then swap porn.
Mark: Hah!
Dee: You know RuPaul is way into porn!
Mark: I did not know that, that may have to be something I should read about.
Dee: Ru's new movie includes many porn stars.
Mark: Wow! You may have already answered the next question, but what person
has influenced you the most in life?
Dee: Janice Dickinson, RuPaul, and Brigitte Nielson all gave extreme amounts of
influence to my personality.
Mark: So you watch America's Next Top Model then?
Dee: Only when it reruns on VH-1 in marathon form. I don't like Tyra Banks
because I know people who know her and she doesn't impress me. Even though
Janice loves her. But Janice has left ANTM so I don't know how she feels
anymore.
Mark: Ah, I don't know if you ever saw season 2, but I went to Highschool with Shandi.
Dee: She annoyed me a bit with her loving devotion to her boyfriend.
And in the end I was sad she lost.
Mark: Yeah. She lives in NYC now.
Mark: What is the most unusual thing that has happened to you?
Dee: My entire life is unusual. I am unusual. Everything I do is usually odd
and unexpected.
Mark: What are your five favorite CDs?
Dee: Madonna's Erotica, RuPaul's Red Hot, Natasha Bedingfield's Unwritten, Dead
or Alive's Evolution, and Imani Coppola's Chupacabra.
Mark: What would be the best thing you could receive for Christmas this year?
Dee: A beautiful man or a new car. Maybe a beautiful man with a new car.
Mark: Where is your family from, where did you grow up, and where did you go
to high school ?
Dee: My family is from Pennsylvania. Eastern Pennsylvania. We are German,
mostly and it's a big deal. I grew up in a small town with lots of trees and
stuff. I didn't go to high school.
Mark: Word Association, I will say some people's names and you say what first comes
to mind.
Mark: RuPaul -
Dee: Penis.
Mark: Marilyn Manson -
Dee: Prophet.
Mark: President Bush -
Dee: Dangerous.
Mark: Gia Darling -
Dee: Pumpkin Pie.
Mark: Ron Jeremy -
Dee: Should have fucked Traci Bingham.
Mark: Howard Stern -
Dee: Lovely idiot.
Mark: Jewel -
Dee: My future wife.
Mark: What is your Favorite Novel?
Dee: House of Leaves
Mark: What is your Favorite Curse?
Dee: Cunt.
Mark: What are your five favorite movies ?
Dee: To Wong Foo, Prescilla Queen of the Desert, Girls Will Be Girls, Elvira's
Haunted Hills and House on Haunted Hill (the new one).
Mark: Nice movies!
Mark: What is the best advice would you give?
Dee: Be yourself. Learn to have a thick skin. Remember that you are not
special, but you have permission to feel special. And stop being stupid.
Mark: Wow, that is really awesome. I just got all warm and fizzy inside.
Dee: YAY!
Mark: What has been the highest point in Life?
Dee: When people are inspired by my creations. If they buy a book or a painting
and then are floored when they receive it. It's very deep to me that I have
made a positive mark on their lives. That's the highest you could get -
inspiring people and knowing for sure you have.
Mark: That's awesome. If you got to host a local show similar to Punk'd, who would you most
like to punk and what would you do ?
Dee: Mayim Bialik, you know the star of the 90's show Blossom. We'd knock on
her door and make her think she's famous again. She looks like she'd get really
mad yet could take a joke. I don't know why but she just annoys me so I want to
piss her off.
Mark: I feel like James Lipton from Inside the Actors Studio. What musician would you most like to meet ? Have you met anyone famous that you were impressed with?
Dee: I would love to meet Cher. I think we'd be fast friends. I have never met
anyone too famous. When I lived in Pennsylvania I met this local group that had
appeared on MTV2. The hot lead singer ate pizza while he stared me up and down.
Mark: Cool. I like Cher!
Mark: You are chosen to be on a new reality show, you will be on a deserted
island for 90 days. You will have a nice place to stay with plenty to eat
and drink. You get to choose 3 people to go with you. Two of them must be
girls and one must be a guy. Who would you ask to go ?
Dee: Madonna and my best friend Necroraven. The man would have to be Macaulay
Culkin. I have a thing for present day Culkin. Mmm.
Mark: As far as writing goes, what have you written are you the most proud
of ?
Dee: My photography book. It has my pictures I have taken and they are in
colour! Not only that but it has poetry that means a lot to me. And even though
it's a small book I really appreciate the contents. And oddly so do a lot of
other people.
Mark: And speaking of photography, the pics on your web site
www.theartistd.com are really good. Where were those pics taken and who took
them ?
Dee: Most of my pictures are taken by myself. You remember when you were little
and your mother was always like, "If you want it done, you have to do it
yourself." It's true. My best work has been done all on my own. People can
rarely achieve what I want. However, there were some very special friends who
got to photograph me.
Mark: Any last words for our readers?
Dee: Stop being idiots. Live life and please don't be a Republican.
Mark: Strong words people LISTEN!!!!
Mark: I would like to thank you for giving me the opportunity to interview
you and for our final question, if heaven exists, what would you like to hear
God say when you arrive?
Dee: I'd arrive in a cloudy haze. God, my home boy, doing shots of cheap vodka.
God is cheap. Disco balls spin as he says, "D! I have been SO waiting. Let's
party! You're FABULOUS!!!"
Mark: You have given some great answers, thanks for being so cool D! As the
song from that one movie goes: "Keep doing that thing you do!"
Goodnight Ladies and Gentlemen!
